Custom Teardrop Travel Trailers for Little Cars
MiniTears is a small, start-up Teardrop Trailer manufacturing company owned and operated by Kurt Bowden. Working out of his home based shop & design studio in California, Kurt has designed and built a fully custom, prototype teardrop travel trailer that was specifically designed to tow behind his MINI Cooper 'S'.
His design has caught the eye of not only MINI Cooper enthusiasts but small car owners all over Northern California. Publisher, Barry Brazier, of MC2 - The Mini Magazine, got wind of his teardrop through fellow members of the Redwood Empire Mini Enthusiast, a Nor-Cal MINI club that Kurt & his wife, Shannon, belong to. A great story and many of the photos of Kurt's trailer shown in the "Gallery" area of this website appeared in the MC2 Oct-Nov '09 issue.
During the early summer of 2008, Kurt & Shannon visited "The Dam Gathering of the Tears", an annual teardrop gathering that is held on the shores of Lake Shasta in their home town of Lakehead. Inspired by the trailers he saw there, Kurt began designing a trailer that could be towed behind their MINI, a small car with less than 1400 lbs towing ability.

On the Road!
MiniTears will be at the beautiful Northwest Mini dealership in Tacoma, Washington on July 31st from 2pm till 5pm. Everyone is invited to come by and say hi, see our awesome teardrop trailer up close, and tour this amazing cutting-edge dealership ... and it's all MINIs!
If you can't make to the show give us a call and make an appointment for a private showing. We will be traveling the I-5 corridor from Lakehead, CA to Portland, OR, Seattle, WA, and into Vancouver, B.C. Canada, then back again between Aug. 6th - 9th.

Another Custom MiniTears Teardrop Shipping Out!
Congratulations to Stephen and Ruth Peter of Tampa, Florida. This beautiful, fully loaded MiniTears Teardrop will be arriving at their home about July 15th, just in time for summer teardropping. They will be towing it with their '04 Chili Red and White 'S'.

Announcing ... TinyTears!
There was more than one reason to celebrate Easter this year. A new arrival to the MiniTears Teardrop family , "TinyTears", made it's debut during the annual "Lakehead Easter Bunny Parade".
The new owners, Steve and Stacey Lowery, proudly towed their (yet fenderless) 3' x 6' x 3' wonder down the ten minute parade route with their vintage '65 Morris-MINI Cooper pickup. The truck, 1 of only 500 ever shipped to the US, shared matching paint jobs with the trailer.
As owners of "O2 MotorSports" in Redding, CA, a cutting-edge German Import automotive repair enterprise, Steve and Stacey plan to use the trailer, paired with their MINI truck, at car shows and MINI gatherings up and down the West coast. Equipped with a 21" flat screen monitor and a thundering sound system, the trailer will act as a traveling kiosk running streaming video of Steve and Stacey's show cars and promoting their business. |
